UPDATE: So yes it was operator error, thanks to my child pointing it out. I obviously didn't look at the pictures and had used it upside down OOPS lol. Handy item to have around the house.
Original posting: So I wish I would have paid a bit more attention to the following description: "also cut soft foods, such as butter ham cakes, etc., only you can't think of, there is no soft food that it can't cut." The key is whatever you are cutting has to be SOFT. I tried to slice hard cheese from the fridge for a small gather with 45 mins to spare. Disaster. The item is shallow so trying to cut totally through doesn't work well because it isn't deep enough to cut through the end. Anyway, I still did a 3 star because I don't know if it was operator error and I should have keyed into the word soft, so it wasn't false what was being described. I have tried to be careful about buying anything made in China. This is, so that was on me too lol. I would probably use on butter but hard cheese. Probably won't do that again :)

Works well enough on the cheese and butter, BUT these products had to be sliced sideways because they don’t fit right side up. I would love a slicer like this in the width and length of a cucumber that could be sliced whole.
