I left the air in it for a week before the company arrived and topped off with air before they went to bed. 4.24.24 Follow-up: King Koil Mattress Co is a respectable business that customer satisfaction is very important. They reached out to me and replace the air mattress within couple day. Based on the confidence in their product, and the one year warranty, I would recommend their air mattress!

Followed all the instructions for this product when air volume decrease yet it still leaks air. I’m not going so the process of finding the leak and patching. This product should not be leaking so soon even when following their direction. Lastly, this was to replace a leaky air bed and now have the exact same issue.

I sent King Koil Airbeds Customer Service an email to service@kingkoilairbeds.com with a brief write-up and a few pictures of a rip in my twin airbed mattress asking whether it was covered by warranty. (As a side note, I fully expected my warranty request to be denied since it would be an easy argument to make that it was my fault for causing the rip.) IN TWO DAYS I received a brand new mattress!!! I was facing the sad prospect of a week with an evil fold-out couch. The "mattress" of said couch, I suspect, is a fabric covered slab of cement.
This King Koil air mattress saved my life (well at least my back and so much pain). I can't stress enough how durable and COMFORTABLE this bed is!

I topped off the minimal air compression loss every 2 days with about a 15 second burst from the pump, to get the bed back to full firmness. This seems normal for most air mattress models, especially for heavier users.

I paired this with a fitted mattress topper which help keep things cool. I slept on this in the center and sometimes in either edge. Woke each day with at least 50% less pain that I experience from a regular mattress! Debating to replace my traditional home mattress with this 😯

I had an Intex air mattress a few years back and slept comfortably on it for several months - straight. It became a very comfortable daily bed. I liked it a lot.

I recently had the need for an air mattress again. I saw this king koil and thought I'd spend the extra money (almost double the price of an Intex) to get what seemed to be touted as the 'Cadillac' of air mattresses.

Big mistake!

The first thing I noticed was the terrible toxic-smelling odor of this mattress. The pamphlet said it was a PVC smell which would go away in a day or 2. (As a side note, if this is true, then air it out at the factory (for a day or 2) before shipping to a customer's house).

Despite the unnecessarily cumbersome inflation apparatus, it inflated super fast - that was the only thing good about this mattress.

With fans/AC blowing and windows open (even though it was hot outdoors), I decided to try to get past the smell and sleep on it. It was a very uncomfortable sleep experience.

I like a firm bed, so I inflated it as such. The designed oval-shaped 'depressions' in the mattress, meant to look like 'button-tufting' I assume, actually just created dozens of large low spots for the body to adjust to. It was a constant struggle to find a consistent flat surface to lie on. I thought I'd let a 'little air' out to see if I could even things out a bit, and that's when I realized what a pain this inflation/deflation apparatus was.

With the Intex, you just move the power switch 'up' to inflate and 'down' to deflate. Super easy, done in the middle of the night, in a dark room, with my eyes closed. And It was super easy to 'fine-tune' the air pressure with 1 or 2 seconds of adjustments.

Not a chance with this mattress. You really need to move the mattress head away from the wall, which is when you realize the power cord of 4 ft. is a joke. Then, you need to twist the proper vent until it pops open, at which time a gush of air is released, more than needed, forcing you to then have to inflate. So you close the deflation vent and open the inflation vent which seemed to let even more are out until the power switch was turned on, blah, blah, blah. Way to involved for a middle of the night adjustment and seemingly impossible for the mechanics of all this to allow 'fine-tuning' of the pressure.

Last, but certainly NOT least, back to the smell. The entire house smelled of this nasty, toxic-smelling odor. Two people (one in another room) actually complained of headaches. I'd had enough. At 3 am, I deflated the mattress, wrapped it in a blanket and put it in a bath room and closed the door. I finished the night sleeping fairly comfortably - on the couch!

I boxed it back up and it's going back tomorrow!

This morning I searched the reviews for 'toxic' and 'smell' and it appears I'm not alone. I don't know how long the smell would have lasted, but I wasn't interested in finding out either. As I write this, the mattress has been boxed-up for 2 hours and the house still smells! Another day of fans/AC and open windows I guess.

I can't account for the large number of positive reviews. Perhaps they're for a different version or older model with different material (sometimes that's what happens and reviews for different products are combined)...who knows. Regardless, I stand by my review and would not recommend this mattress.

I purchased this mattress as a replacement for my bed mattress. I know, a bit unusual but I’ve been having trouble finding a mattress I can sleep on. It’s the best I’ve found. I didn’t have to pay the big price for an air bed (sleep number). I have truly slept better. Unfortunately, it has developed a small leak. I have used this mattress for about 10 months. It’s probably not intended to be slept on like a normal bed? It has more developed a small leak. I have to decide if $140/ 10 months is worth it? I have truly enjoyed sleeping on it!

Malfunction of pump created smoke and sparks

After using this for the first time and inflating the mattress as per the instructions, there was a low inside at the pump and immediately smoke and sparks appeared. I tried again and it got worse. The pump doesn't work anymore and it could have caused a serious danger. This is not safe and unfortunately my warranty expired before I tested it. Not recommended, it was expensive and a trusted brand and I am severely let down and disappointed.

It can be sort of saver for guests one night but, its loosing air a bit in 3 hours so you feel like your center part is going down. if its placed on hard floor it makes squicky sounds all night so its hard to sleep. Luxary? Is it ecause of the layer they put on top that collects dust? LOL
If you want to have a good night, don't buy airbed, buy a mattress
