We have it mounted on a small 15' sailboat for backup when needed. We've actually had to use it quite often, and thus far it's never let us down. Nice and lightweight, easy to carry and mount on the boat. At full speed it gets us where we want to go at a nice clip...(altho being older we're in no hurry, so if you wanna zip across the lake, you'll need a bigger motor) As it is, we're very pleased with this one!

Everything about the motor seems rugged and well built. I bought the 36 lb. thrust motor for my inflatable tandem kayak for crabbing, fishing, and exploring the Pacific Northwest. It pushes the kayak at a comfortable 3.4 knots on level 3 and 4.9 knots at level 5. Vary pleased.

The two props that come with the TM don't do well going through light vegetation. I constantly have to go high-speed forward and reverse to get the stems and leaves off.

Even on low the unit is loud. It pushes my 11.5' Jon boat okay and uses the same amount of power my Minn Kota did on speed #3.

The height adjustment screw is a real pain to turn tight enough especially when transporting in the horizontal position with the handle sideways while running the gas outboard or on the trailer.

Update: Had some old Minn Kota props laying around with slightly larger blades. Worked like a charm in weeds and pads and I get more power, especially in reverse.

The original trolley motor came and did not work. I messaged the seller and he told me to take it to a repair shop and he would reimburse me for any repairs. Repair was not an option according to the repair shop. I messaged the seller back, and he sent me a new one. Excellent communication skills, excellent all the way around.

Thought i going to have to row up current for about a half mile. The raft barely moved trying to get back to the loading dock. took about 1 1/2 hours to get back. Might be ok for a lake but or slue but a river not on your life. And now I'm stuck with it because return date is over.
