But, even so, I've really wanted to add a SAN IV to my collection (we love our Invictas!) and could only find the option I wanted on the terrible poly strap. So, hoping for the best, I ordered one watch (Model 11053, as listed here for this being a replacement band) that arrived with an already broken strap (Seller lied about the watch condition), managed to return it (thanks to eBay's buyer protection), ordered a second watch that arrived fine, but then the strap on that one broke a week into wearing it, so, I came looking to find an affordable strap replacement option, and found this.
This strap, while seeming very well made (and much thicker at that vulnerable point between metal inserts), is not a fit, at all, for my watch model, despite the model being listed here in the description. The holes are too widely spaced, lengthwise, so, as the photo shows, there is a large gap between the pieces that are supposed to fit flush to each other. Very disappointing, especially since it seems to be a much more sturdy strap than the original.
I did not finish installing it, due to the obvious poor fitment. So, I went ahead and ordered the ridiculously expensive replacement direct from Invicta, and I'll hope that works. Plus, it will have the Subaqua marking, which is cool, but I've already resigned myself to knowing it will break eventually, lol, so I decided to also order a SAN IV on a SS bracelet.
I see a lot of places selling knock off versions of the SAN IV strap, so hopefully I can find one that does fit, to have a future back up. Invicta really botched these original straps! Still love the brand, haha, but, wow, they should have offered lifelong replacements, given the tremendous and inevitable failure rate.
Glad these fit for some people. I guess they must not sell the same strap to everyone. Frustrating.
As a side note, getting the original screws removed was a nightmare. I finally had to tear the original strap pieces, out, and then put them in boiling water to break whatever kind of thread locking solution was used, from the factory. Was finally successful with 15 minute periods of letting the parts cook in a pot of rapidly boiling water, on high heat. So, that works, for anyone else trying this. And, all the screws come out of all the pieces, once subjected to the sustained heat, so, just for reference, that's what I discovered in this project.
I'll keep my eyes out for an affordable strap replacement that does fit.
But, one star only here, for selling a product that doesn't fit the advertised watch model.
