There are clear pattern drawings easily enlarged by scanning or photocopying. The different methods of fabric decoration could be completed with leather if more time, tools and money were available. Hmmmm I just checked this book out of the library and was so inspired that I came here to Amazon to purchase my own. I was sad to find I could not and was very surprised to read so many negative reviews.
Many people describe the bags as "ugly"...I found them hip, cute, stylish, creative very cute. Maybe because I like artistic/Bohemian style...but even so there were many varieties to like. Very shocked at all of your negative opinions....wow. I am curious what you do think is cute...maybe boring mainstream bags? I don't know. I hope to get a copy and I will be making cute bags with free style emobroidery, applique, cute closures...and I will look sharp!

I do NOT recommend this book at all!!! It indicates that there are 50 bags to sew, well....there are, BUT they are 50 bags that are the same style, just different fabrics. I personally can figure out a envelope bag without a pattern, that being said I have been sewing for over 40 years, so there may be some out there who need the ideas...not much for instructions either. The book is full of ugly purses for sure. Some are sewn, some knitted or crocheted...certainly not what I was looking for! It is a crap shoot when buying craft books on line that don't have pics of the items inside the book, I gambled and lost on this one! Trash bag filler it is!!!

book is dated with some funky purses. if you look beyond the fabric choices and look at just the shapes, they are basic styles. the book has very few patterns (that need to be enlarged) and limited instructions on how to make the purses. definitely not for the beginner purse maker or sewist. make a sample before you use your good fabric.

Misleading, there are not 50 patterns or designs. Some designs are barely suggestions and nearly all are very casual styles, no corporate or ‘smart’ patterns which is what I was looking for.
(Contains hardly any actual patterns or instructions). Very disappointing!
If you already have some books/ bag making experience you will find better inspiration on the internet. Surprised it has so many positive reviews (I purchased on basis of these and just want to offer another viewpoint to balance these)
