Video is 1/4” steel. I’ve been cutting sch. 40 pipe with no issues as well.
Does burn through batteries but I put one of the 8.0 batteries in there and it works great.

Base plate not flat. Cuts not square.

Saw has plenty of power but the base plate is twisted/warped. Looks like it probably happened from the heat of welding the little pivot point on. Whatever the cause, it won't cut square. Probably not a problem if cutting plate but i often use a circular saw to cut square and rectangular tubing when it's not convenient to use a chop saw. In this case I want square cuts. If it was a cheap tool I might just live with it but not for this price. Returned it about ten minutes after opening the box. Haven't decided if I'll try another or not.

Update: based on good reviews, i ordered a second one. It's base plate or whatever you want to call it is not perfectly flat but it is much better. It cuts close enough to square that i can live with it.
