I wish I could have just bought the motor with this already installed at a decent price!! With that being said...man Minn Kota could not have made this any easier. The directions were easy as pie. There are also tons of YT videos on the subject. For those like me that maybe cannot afford the ipilot then this is a great alternative. I really wanted the pedal steering then when I fould out I could add a remote and keep my pedal steering I was sold. I know those with ipilot lose the foot pedal unless you mod the control board. I myself do not need ipilot for my little boat, and I have found that using the remote in conjunction with the foot control gives me excellent control over my boat positioing. I am no longer fighting trying to fish with keeping my boat in proximity to my target. Absolutely Love It!!
