Genesis 9" Bandsaw
I had been using a 100 year old, $10.00 tabletop Craftsman band saw I got at a garage sale but it got so out of balance and the pullys got so out of round that I had to tie it to a post clamped to a shelf to keep it from jumping off the table.So, this is better. It is so much quieter than the old one and it went together easily enough and I made these two knives using it, so it works pretty well but there are some things that bother me about it.1. The label will not come off the work table so that the edge stops the work as it slides over it which is annoying. I found an article on how to remove it with a razor blade and acetone but it took the guy an hour to do it. I guess that's my next totally unnecessary chore. I know you are proud of your machine but geez! Make a label that comes off.2. The sliding guide has a big lump on it so it doesn't fit in the slide slot. I had to grind that off and then it works fine. But, come on, you can build a saw but you can't make sure the parts fit? That just sloppy.3. There is no way to temporarily attach the saw to the work table. A couple of flat feet would have been useful to use a clamp instead of having to bolt it onto the table.But it works ok and so far I like it because it is so much better than what I had been suffering with.
